Fuel Scarcity: FG Needs Urgent Review Of Fuel Subsidy Removal – South West NNPP

The South West Chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has described the alleged fuel subsidy removal by the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress, (APC) administration as a professional scam and monumental fraud, saying the federal government must urgently review the policy.

The South West NNPP in a release on Tuesday signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Kilamuwaye Badmus said what President Tinubu-led government told Nigerians was that with the fuel subsidy removal, there would be no scarcity of the products in the market, but the hardship Nigerians have been subjected to in the past days showed that the petroleum products are still regulated by the Federal Government.

Badmus said since the planned removal of the fuel subsidy has failed, the best thing for the APC-led administration is to carry out urgent review of the policy.

According to the South West NNPP in the statement, “Nigerians have witnessed untold hardship in the past few days due to the scarcity of petroleum products in the country.

“Filling stations across the country are closed. There are fewer cars and commercial buses on the roads leading to suffering of workers and commuters. Several students are stranded by the roadside.

“Few fillings stations selling fuel are doing so at cut throat prices. If you are lucky to get commercial transportation, you should be ready to pay more than you already budgeted.

“This situation has shown that the said fuel subsidy removal by the Tinubu-led administration is a failure, a professional scam and there is the need for the urgent review of the policy.

“This hardship coupled with high cost of food stuffs have put ordinary Nigerians in tight corner. The APC – led federal government must put on its thinking cap and save the masses from this hardship”.
